We are more than just a blog, we are a community exploring our faith in Christ through devotion writing. As Christians, we are the students of God and must be open to continually learning and broadening our understanding of the world and how we can serve our communities through Christ.

The Electric Gospel was started by David Sellnow, M.Div. & M.S., who served in ministry and higher education and now is active in human services. In an effort to engage others in spiritual discourse, he designed numerous faith-based writing opportunities for his religious studies courses. He also began leading devotion writing workshops to help church leaders improve their skills for gospel communication. The Electric Gospel blog began as a place for publishing work by individuals in those various courses. Now, the Electric Gospel continues as a forum to expand the ways in which believers engage in their faith. Through devotion writing and other means, the Electric Gospel encourages introspection, open discussion, and spiritual communication. For more info, click here.

The Electric Gospel is open to everyone and aims to respect all identities and backgrounds. The religious community has ruptured valuable relationships between some individuals and their faith because they are deemed unworthy by the religious community. The Electric Gospel hopes to mend this. If you have any concerns that arise while engaging with this community, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always learning, and we appreciate when someone helps us understand them better.

The Electric Gospel is always encouraging individuals to engage with their faith, and if you would like to do so by writing devotions to be published on the Electric Gospel, feel free to fill out this form. We also suggest checking out our resources page for devotional books and to express interest in a possible online course dedicated to spiritual writing.
